Gaoshun has probably noticed before either of you has. Jinshi has found another reason to stop by, the conversation has drifted well beyond the errand that supposedly brought him there, and someone still needs to finish the actual work. You could assume he is being charming because he usually is, but the extra questions are starting to make that explanation less convincing.
Being noticed by Jinshi and getting close to him are rather different things. The beautiful smile is easy to appreciate, especially when you are watching The Apothecary Diaries from the comfort of your own room. Dealing with the person behind it would involve his curiosity, occasional sulking, and a schedule that does not leave much space for straightforward conversations. You might enjoy the playful attention and still wish he would simply say what he means. That would be a fair request.
Consider an ordinary afternoon with him, once nobody is making an entrance. You have something you care about, he has questions, and neither of you needs to impress an audience. Would you feel comfortable disagreeing with him? Could he listen without turning your answer into another opportunity to tease you?
